M.A. Woven Designs Presents Cordicouple Panagbenga Edition: Barong and Filipiñana in Inabel

At Habing Katutubo: Blooms & Looms – Panagbenga Edition on February 28, 2026 in Hotel Supreme, Baguio City, M.A. Woven Designs reintroduced the Barong and Filipiñana through its Cordicouple collection.

Familiar silhouettes took the runway—elegant and timeless—but with a meaningful shift. Instead of the usual foreign batik accents, the pieces were detailed with locally woven inabel, offering a distinctly Filipino alternative rooted in indigenous craftsmanship.

As pairs moved in quiet harmony, the garments revealed a shared narrative—tradition preserved, yet thoughtfully redefined. The inabel served not just as design, but as a statement of identity.

In that moment, Cordicouple proposed a simple idea: that Filipino formal wear can remain classic while embracing our own weaves—authentic, local, and proudly ours.
