Rampa Para Sa Balik Eskwela: A Runway with Purpose

Updated: Dec 28, 2025

Rampa Para Sa Balik Eskwela was a special fundraising segment integrated into Ivy Fashion Ball 3: Post Apocalypse, held on April 24, 2022 at the Cordillera Convention Hall of Baguio Country Club. Beyond its bold post-apocalyptic aesthetic and high-concept runway, the event carried a clear social mission: to support Project Namnamma, an advocacy-driven initiative focused on community assistance and back-to-school support.

Fashion as a Bridge Between Service and Creativity

As Creative Director of Ivy Fashion Ball, Maila Alog intentionally opened the platform to police service, using fashion as a bridge to connect the uniformed service sector and the creative industry. This collaboration highlighted that public service does not exist in isolation—it can meaningfully intersect with art, design, and cultural work to serve communities in more inclusive and innovative ways.

Through Rampa Para Sa Balik Eskwela, the runway became more than a stage for fashion statements. It was transformed into a space for dialogue, partnership, and shared responsibility, where creatives, models, and members of the police force stood together for a common cause.

Supporting Project Namnamma and Balik Eskwela

The fundraising segment was designed to help outsource resources for the upcoming Balik Eskwela program, ensuring that assistance could reach children and families in need as the new school year approached. By embedding the advocacy directly into the fashion program, the initiative emphasized that education, dignity, and opportunity are collective responsibilities.

Every walk on the runway symbolized support—not only for artistic expression but also for practical community action. The collaboration reinforced the idea that fashion events can be powerful platforms for mobilizing resources and awareness when guided by a clear purpose.

Post Apocalypse, Reimagined with Hope

While the overarching theme, Post Apocalypse, explored survival and transformation, Rampa para sa Balik Eskwela reframed the narrative toward rebuilding and hope. In a world imagined after crisis, education becomes one of the strongest tools for recovery. The segment underscored that preparing children for school is, in itself, an act of resilience and nation-building.

A Model for Purpose-Driven Platforms

This project stands as a testament to how creative platforms can responsibly share space with public service and advocacy. Under Maila Alog’s leadership, Ivy Fashion Ball demonstrated that fashion can be both visionary and grounded—celebrating artistry while actively responding to real community needs.

In the end, the runway did more than showcase designs. It carried a message: when service and creativity walk together, the impact goes far beyond the stage.
