A significant milestone was reached in Ambuklao, Bokod, Benguet as Indigenous Researcher Maila Alog, who is also a police officer, conducted a Conference and Disclosure with the Ibaloy community—a vital step prior to the community’s formal decision-making process for her research on Indigenous Methods of Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution.
The engagement emphasized transparency, cultural respect, and shared understanding of the research objectives, scope, and methodology. Following the conference and disclosure, the process advanced through MOA preparation, the drafting of a Resolution of Consent, and the signing of documents, reflecting the community’s collective and informed choice. The Ibaloy community unanimously agreed to support the conduct of the research.
Sincere appreciation is extended to Sir Marcos Jose for his invaluable assistance, as well as to the IPMR family of Ambuklao and the barangay officials whose leadership ensured that all protocols were observed and community processes were upheld with integrity.
This engagement marks another step forward in a broader, community-centered research journey—grounded in consent, trust, and collaboration.
