Maila Alog was selected by the Department of Education (DepEd) to present a fashion show during an education forum aligned with the Education 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), held on December 14, 2022 at DepEd Wangal, La Trinidad.
The forum convened educators, school leaders, development partners, and local stakeholders to explore how education, local history, and creative practices contribute to sustainable development. Recognizing the role of culture in learning, DepEd specifically requested the inclusion of a fashion show segment, highlighting Indigenous textiles and heritage as part of the program.
Through the Inabel Fashion Show, Maila Alog presented designs that reflected Cordilleran identity, craftsmanship, and storytelling, demonstrating how Indigenous fashion can serve as a visual and experiential learning tool within education spaces. Her participation underscored the value of integrating culture and creativity into discussions on sustainability and inclusive education.
