Maila Alog Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the Philippine National Police Academy

Silang, Cavite — Maila Alog has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (LTCOL) in the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), joining four other PNPA officers who were likewise elevated in rank during the promotion rites—an occasion that underscored collective excellence and shared commitment to service within the Academy.

A member of PNPA Masaligan Class of 2011, LTCOL Alog has been assigned at the Philippine National Police Academy since December 2022, where she has taken on a range of critical responsibilities supporting both operations and cadet development. Her assignments included serving as Supply Officer and Tactical Officer under the Tactics Group, positions that demanded discipline, strategic thinking, and operational leadership. She also served as a Professor for PNPA cadets, contributing to classroom instruction and the formation of future police leaders.

In February 2024, she was designated as Chief, Public Information Office (PIO) and Chief, Community Affairs Extension Service Section (CAESS) of PNPA. In these dual roles, she has led institutional communications and community engagement initiatives that promote transparency, service with compassion, and strengthened police–community relations.

Reflecting on the milestone, LTCOL Alog shared a humble message:

“I honestly thought it is not a biggie—but this milestone reminds me that every step forward, no matter its size, is worth celebrating. What makes it even more meaningful is the overwhelming support and genuine excitement I’ve felt from all of you. Thank you for showing me that progress becomes even more powerful when shared with the best support system.”

She also conveyed her gratitude to colleagues and supporters, giving special mention to Ang Kuyang Pulis, Team PIO/CAESS PNPA, and the entire PNPA family led by Andre Perez Dizon. In a lighthearted note that captured the camaraderie within the Academy, she added, “Salamat sa pa-lechon, pa-cake, pa-flowers at pa-sobre Sir!”

The promotion of LTCOL Alog—together with four fellow officers—highlights the Academy’s culture of recognizing merit, leadership, and service. Her advancement in PNPA, Silang, Cavite reflects a career marked by steady growth, multidimensional leadership, and a deep commitment to shaping both the institution and the communities it serves.
